Health and safety poster

It is a legal requirement to provide health and safety information to staff.

This is usually done by displaying a Health and safety poster (EW) prominently in the workplace.

Alternatively, a leaflet can be given to all workers.

The poster or leaflet must include:

  • The name of a workers' representative (if there is one)
  • The name of a management representative
  • Contact details of the enforcing authority (this will be either the HSE (or HSENI in Northern Ireland) or the environmental health department of the local authority/council of the business).

A Health and safety poster (NI) is available for businesses in Northern Ireland.
